Christmas Party

Ryan and I love the Holidays. So we spruced up the apt. and invited our friends over to gather round our faux fire and enjoy some seasonal sangria. We did not take a ton of photos but here are a couple :)

Tis the Season

Happy Holidays to all. I recently heard about a restaurant in NYC that is COMPLETELY decorated like a Christmas Tree. People have said it looks like Santa's Workshop or the inside of a Christmas tree. Of course, I had to go and see for myself. Above are the pics from the restaurant.

Thanksgiving with our Famlies

And it isn't even April!!! (read previous post)

Wow, that was a crazy, crowded and fantastic week. It was so nice having the Sullivan and Clausntizer crew together for our first Holiday. We went to dinner, the parade, the park and museums. Everyone kind of did there own things during the day. Then we all got together at night.

The actual feast was a success. There was an empty apartment on my floor and I used their stove :) I was panicked that not all the food would come out on time, but it did and it looked/tasted great (if I do say so myself.) It wasn't all my doing. A lot of people were in the kitchen helping. Which is pretty funny considering our kitchen is a 3x4 space.

My favorite memory from the week would have to be playing Catch Phrase with everyone. We did not know the meaning of all the words and it lead to some very funny moments.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween. Okay, okay. It is almost Christmas but by now you know I work on a different calendar than most :)

If you have trouble guessing, I am suppose to be Lady Gaga and Ryan is supposed to be Tom Cruise from Risky busines with a little Top Gun flare (i.e. Ray Bans).

We ended up having friends over here. It wasn't as wild and crazy as Halloweens past, but we prefered it that way.

Stay tuned...In April I will tell you all about our great Thanksgiving.

THANKSGIVING

Our family is coming, our family is coming. We are so excited that the Sullivans and Clausnitzers are coming to NYC to spend Thanksgiving with us. We have been trying to get the apartment ready. We have blow up mattresses, new furniture coming and tons of new fun decorations for our first time hosting a holiday. We have been trying to clean the apartment too but our cleaning is one of those "it gets worse before it gets better" types of cleaning.

As far as the meal goes, it will be as traditional as we can make it. We will have stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoe pie, rolls, green beans, an apple crisp and of course the turkey. However, this is a New York Thanksgiving and in true NY apartment style, we have ordered our 20lbs. turkey (already cooked and farm raised) from a small market.

On Thursday, we are going to get up early and head to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Norma calls this a 'bucket list' activity. We will put pictures up for everyone to see.

To our extended family...you will be missed but we cannot wait to see you at Christmas. We miss you and love you all very much.

Love,
Us

Moving Up Like George and Weezy

Here they are, the photos of our new apartment. Last night we had a house warming party that was very successful. In our last apartment we could fit about 9 people (uncomfortably.) Last night we had about 30 people over without a problem. The pictures below were taken right before guests began arriving.

This is our bedroom. There is plenty of space for clothes, clothes, and more clothes.

This is the view from the front door. Against the stairs we have our kitchen table. On the left you can see Ryan's bike against the wall. The desk is behind our couch. Tim and Norma (mom and dad) moved the couch to make the living room feel like a separate space.

Ryan is working on the play list for our party. My favorite part of our living room is our new mirror above the faux fireplace.

Notice the Tigers pillow. One of the little ways we throw in Ryan and Callie touches. We really love our new place and we hope you do too.

Happy Easter

Today is Easter Sunday. If you have been reading any blogs, you may know what we did to celebrate. Ryan and I met some friends in...CENTRAL PARK!!! We had a great time.

Our REALLY big news is that we decided to look for a new apartment yesterday. We looked at a new place yesterday and we applied for a new place yesterday. We are, hopefully, moving to a beautiful new apartment on 89th and Lexington. We will be close to an express subway, closer to Central Park and living in an apartment with 2 stories. We have the bedroom and bathroom upstairs and the living area and kitchen downstairs.

We cannot wait to move in. Wish us luck, we should hear back tomorrow on if we got the place or not.

Spring in the Park

Our favorite thing to do this Spring is picnic in the park. Today, we met up with some friends. We ate great food, drank mimosas and took some photos. Notice below that I am wearing green nail polish. It may be ugly, but I love MSU.

Hot Dogs and Pretzels

New York is warming up and with that comes a lot of time spent in Central Park. Ryan and I were excited for all the snack cart food items. Of course, pictures of ourselves eating may be a little strange. However, we wanted to play with our new camera.

Central Park Race

Callie got some great action shots towards the end of my 4 mile race in the Central Park. I was pretty pumped about my time, especially since it was so early in the spring. I have signed up for a 10K race towards the end of May.
